Just getting in to precision rifle shooting, building up my first long range machine. Wanted to say hi. I've loved all the info I've acquired as a lurker, so I figured it was time to join up!

I forgot to mention in my introduction that I am hilariously bad at introducing myself!
The rifle I ordered is a savage 10P in 308. It has a big oversized bolt handle and a thick, threaded, 5R rifled barrel. Theoretically it's on its way to my FFL. A seekins 20 moa base and vortex matched rings are destined to ride on top. As for glass, I'm torn. I could opt for the much lauded SWFA 10x SS, but I'm thinking about holding out for a bushnell with G2DMR, Viper PST 4-16, or maybe a 3-15 FFP SWFA option. Evaluating brake options right now, leaning JEC but I might go for something with suppressor compatibility in case I ever get out of NY. It's a slow process.
Once that's all together, maybe i'll think about a new stock for it all to ride in. I'm new to the pastime, so I don't know how much it will bother me. I've not been appalled by any stock savage stock i've encountered, but maybe I need more time on one.
In the meantime, I might need to find a place to shoot that's longer than 200 yards.
