Hello, Just wanted to say hi to the community. Love the wealth of information on this site, hope I can contribute. I'm currently located in North Central Illinois. Been shooting my whole life but within the last few years got in real heavy. I am a part time LEO aside from full time industrial manufacturing of custom high speed vision inspection machines. Really want to get in to the bolt precision and gas .308 precision game more. Current inventory in those categories includes a Savage 110 HSP .338 with an aftermarket fluted bolt cut to my specification and lug to match...sent off to the fine folks at APA and paid to have the action trued, bolt installed, parkerized, and fat bastard installed by Jared himself...and the work is amazing. Its wearing a NF NXS 5.5X22 MOAR with NF rings for a hat, harris 6-9" legs, CTK P3 Ultimate pod and a Bradley adjustable kydex cheek weld for a thong, ha. Its pretty awesome for an entry rifle....however im considering selling it because a buddy of mine, who has the exact same rifle with exact upgrades, (shipped to APA with mine) has dropped out of shooting for the foreseeable future and we were working custom loads for it. I can't afford to do it on my own since he owns all the equipment and factory ammo wont cut it for me. Especially at $100/box and I don't have time. Anyway, thinking of dropping to a custom .308 such as a GAP, Sako or AI and be done with it and shoot sub .5 out of the gate with much cheaper factory match. We only had the chance to work up one ladder load before screeching to a halt and didn't even shoot all of em...probably would be a consistent sub .5 rifle with Jared's work and the right load for sure, I think I have about 25rds down the barrel. As far as .308 im sitting on a LMT MWS 16" CL. Zero accuracy testing done on that thing. I LOVE that rifle, its a tank that is so fast and easy to shoot, but also considering moving that for a GAP-10 (or the like) however having a proven battle rifle on hand sits well with me so amongst my delusions im ALSO considering having a Bartlein or Krieger sent off to DBMG to fit it. I need to do more research on this though. TMI?...I dunno, its a community right? Assimilate, I must. I still have so much more to learn and I appreciate the people and knowledge here very much. I shoot as much as possible but its hard in this state, even with LEO access. I'm originally from central WI in the lovely land of free public ranges and woods for miles, but the economy keeps me here. Feel free (of course) to ask any questions. Thanks.
