Thoughts? Anyone see this at SHOT? It seems like a pretty solid chassis with a lot of input taken from the PRS guys. I think this is just the prototype so who knows what will end up changing.

I thought they already had a chassis that looked similar? I know it's just my OCD speaking but I hate how the barrel is not centered in the handguard tube.

I like it!

It's definitely an evolution from their current chassis offering which never seemed to catch on.

Nothing on their website yet about it, but I am eager to see a production version and pricing. JP makes top notch products.

Is that a JP action in that 3rd pic? I already see them having to solve the Arca rail problem where the tube fore-end meets the chassis/ pic rail
From what I was told, they are working on making in ARCA and possibly MLok compatible. And with regards to the tube being off center, I'm guessing they did that to get the scope lower, but yeah, it's a bit awkward looking.

I've been wondering for a couple years why they've stuck to large diameter round handguards for AR's when the market seems to be going the other direction. For a bolt gun it really makes no sense to me at all.

I would think with the amount they've invested in their accessories that changing over to something that requires a different mount isn't a small task. Or they could just like them.

I understand the manufacturing tool-up aspect of it but they usually don't seem to shy away from firing up the machines for the latest new parts. I'm guessing they just like them. I definitely notice less stability with a round HG shooting off of a barricade vs. a flat bottomed one.

I got a chance to look it over.

As much as I do like JP products, I don't think they are bringing anything new to the game. It looks like a nice chassis. But I didn't get to handle it and no one knew the price.

To me, if it weighs the right amount and they bring MLok and Arcaswiss, it's a home run. It's got the looks and the name of quality behind it. It certainly wouldn't be bringing anything less at that point. Price pending of course.

On an AR the skinny handguards get hot FAST when you are doing rapid fire drills so larger diameter handguards are by no means obsolete despite what the current trend is.
