New Kidd 10-22 Chassis

Ordered the chassis over the phone when they called (per my request) to let me know it would be on the website in an hour. Bought it sight unseen since it wasn't that expensive. What did hurt the bank balance is ordering another Kidd receiver and bolt setup too.

Would really be perfect if the forearm was about 3x longer it’s almost like they didn’t want to show the front of it with a barrel installed in there photos even on the complete rifle page I have a Kidd with a 20” barrel seems like there would be 14” of barrel hanging out there very interested to see how it works On yours

The Kidd chassis arrived late today. I've had limited spare time to work with it yet.

First thing is that the T/CR22 action is loose even when torqued down pretty tight and using the "rear stabilizing screw". A Kidd take-down screw might fix that... but there wasn't one included. I do have a Kidd take-down screw on order that hasn't arrived since it's shipping with an entire Kidd slip-fit receiver.

I bought both the Magpul and Hogue grips that Kidd offers and was unimpressed with the feel of either. Separately I ordered a Masterpiece Arm EVG grip, but couldn't get the screw lined up. It'll likely need some modification to work and I'll try fitting it when time allows.

Here's a picture with the (loose) T/CR22 and a stainless 16.25 inch Feddersen bull barrel:

Yeah, I'll stick with the "old fashioned and non-tactical" version:

It's a very nice rifle and integrally suppressed with 12 of 16 inches going to baffle core. I swear, this rifle is everyone's favorite at everything from children's birthday parties to AOC piss porn parties. The Kidd action and parts and single stage trigger is just the titties; I've got an old Ruger I'm gonna swap out with at least a new trigger. I wanted a super quiet and quality non-Ruger rifle and this did it, I used all Kidd parts, Liberty Pinnacle 2 barrel and Titan stock. The stock is about as nice as you can get for the price IMO. You do need their tang and not the Kidd tang though, so heads up. That 1-4x Vortex PST is really nice for this little rifle I feel and the whole package is probably 1/2-1MOA, closer to 1 maybe, when farting around with it at 25 and 50 yards.

But it's not very tactical apparently so proper discretion is advised.

I SBR'd a stock 10/22 and put a 4"bbl. and a chopped folding Butler Creek stock on it (that I modified with an allen bolt in the rear in order to put pressure on the trigger guard and prevent movement in the chopped stock) and with the 1" Millet red dot, thread on can and stock folded, it's pretty tactical.

The stock Ruger folder is a POS but can get the job done. The Kidd rifle is truly a nice rifle by any standard. I think the tactical receiver is an apostasy though, but that's just my opinion. I bet it's very well built and works like a champ though so what do I know? I guess it comes down to personal preference.

If you're gonna build one, I'd get one with a threaded barrel. I think MOA is the other one that makes a SS threaded receiver but I could be wrong. Only reason I didn't get mine threaded was because of fucking 41F and trying to get a tax stamp in on time. But you can't go wrong with the Kidd build, not at all, and I understand it's better than and a better value than Volquartsen but i can't say based on experience and I think their stuff looks nice too. But I love my Kidd.

Is the screw too long?

I had that issue with my PMACA and just used 2 washers to cinch it down.

Kidd Supergrade wearing a Magpul 10/22 stock and my Bergara B-14R.

I've been drooling over the McMillan A-5 Tactical for about 18 months now and finally placed an order for one last week The down side is the factory said it has a 4-6 month leed time so I will be shooting the Bergara a lot more until the Mcmillan arrives. (Pix attached of what the stock/color scheme will be).
