New Lube for me

A friend told about CherryBalmz lube and balms. https://www.cherrybalmz.com/ I have been using Otis dry lube for my Kidd SG and all of my rimfire's. But, my SG still does not do well in cold weather. His Kidd does about the same as mine in cold weather. He used their "Winter Balm" for extreme cold weather. in 20 degree weather and it worked 100%. I got mine lubed and ready for this week. I will let you know how it works. I got the buy 2 get one free. I got the Bolt Balm, winter, and rimfire, they are tiny bottles, it takes very little, should last a long time.

Don't shoot much in the cold but had an eye opener last week. First 30 degree day w/light wind in a month so I went to plink...my normally sub .500 at 50 Norma Tac22 was shooting as bad as the cheapest Aguila. Realized my bulk ammo get stored in the garage, which was sub 20 degrees. Assuming the temp affected the lube on the Norma, ever see that ? Normally plink with unlubed CCI or Federal in the cold, and keep the bolt lubed to a minimum

When I lived in Oklahoma In the 90's we went duck hunting one Christmas morning in -5 to +5 degree weather.
My semi auto 12 guage was essentially a single shot all morning till we limited out.
I switched to using FP-10 after that on everything from shotguns, rifles and pistols both internally and externally and have never had any issues since.
It also has a nice cinnamon scent to it

I don’t know if they are back in business but a while back they went out and didn’t say jack shit. Their site was never updated. Couldn’t get a hold of anyone at Cherrybalmz and basically took my money and if they are back in business have yet to fulfill my order. Time has passed since but buyer beware. F that place.

My experience is that black box Tac-22 is pretty much unusable in anything semi-auto at temps below 50˚ F.

I have found that R50 is the best cold weather ammo. Center-x is mid range and eley is the worst below 40 F.

I have never tried the biathlon ammo. It is loaded hotter and is supersonic in the summer but subsonic in the winter.
