A friend of mine has a post 64 model 70 in 308. He used to shoot milsurp ammo that looked like he had dug it up from his backyard, or a battlefield pickup, and tossed in a sammich baggie to bring to the range. Mixed headstamps and years, didn't matter cause that freakin' rifle would still hold at least MOA with that filthy, apocolypse ammo at 700 yards.

I'm not a model 70 guy myself, a maybe he had a freak of a rifle that just happened to have been made by a guy who just was having a really great day, but i'd bet there's a bunch of guys that would totally be down for some additional aftermarket support for the venerable win model 70.
