Hi,
I am a recent sign up here. A co-worker told me about this place. I am from AZ and love to be outdoors. I often hunt in areas where long shots are the norm or required and I want to be able to take those shots with confidence. My main choice for this work is .257 Weatherby Mag. It is nothing special gun or scope wise, but I have been working on loads and so far I have been out to 500 yards with reasonable success and want to extend that range farther. My goal is to be able to take a 600+/- yard shot on a deer and be confident I will make the shot in a clean and humane fashion.
Last year during deer season the only buck we saw was at about 650-700 yards and neither my buddy or I was even remotely comfortable with a shot like that. Today I can't say I would take that shot either but I am getting closer. Hopefully with some practice and learning around this place I will be able to take that shot next year during deer season if it presents itself.
