Hello all,
Happy to have found this forum that I have been pleasantly reading over the last month or so, and have decided to post an introduction.
I am in my early 30s. I live in Kansas City. I am "sort of" an adult onset hunter. I hunt with rifle, shotgun, and bow. I am getting more and more into rifles. I have a Tikka T3X Lite in .30-06 that I hunt with. I plan on doing more western spot and stalk type hunting, so I want to build my shooting skills to distances farther than the Missouri woods. I really want to get behind a rifle more and shoot more often. I am looking into buying a rifle that I can spend many rounds through at the range. I would maybe even entertain the idea of shooting PRS in the future.
So here is fun part where you will get to spend somebody else's money. If you had a budget of $2,000 to $2,500, what rifle would you build? What caliber, action, barrel, stock, trigger, scope, etc.? Any thoughts or ideas on a "budget" build to get shooting more would be appreciated. I may ask this question outside of my introduction in the forum.
