My name is Brad and after browsing the website a while I figured I would join to gather some advice. To kick things off my question is I have two apps one is Sterlok+ and the other exterior ballistics. I am having the hardest time understanding what information i need to put in the blanks to tell me my hold over. I have a Vortex Viper 3x9x40 BDC and am using these apps to tell me my point blank range and if my scope was sighted in dead on at 100 yards what would be the yardage for the three dots below the center of the reticle. If there is anyone that is familiar with either of these apps or some websites to let me know about to do more research please let me know.
I am using a Ruger American Rifle in 270. I am shooting the federal 130gr power shock. I know the bc and actual muzzle velocity fron shooting through a chronograph. I am very interested in understanding how all this works. I have a sticker that I want to fill out to tell me what my ranges are from center of reticle to the three dots below and the slashes to the left and right. Thanks for any and all advice.
