Im New Here. I found this place from a Trigger Video on Youtube.
Im New to Having a Gun with a Scope.
I bought a Remington 700 SPS in .308 W/ 20" Barrel,then added IMO a fairly good Cheap scope.
Scope is a Nikon 4.5-14 BDC. I could have bought a "Nicer" scope but I chose this scope as Im New to nice Glass and I figure when I feel that my scope is holding me back then I will place nicer Glass on the rifle.

My Intent is to "relearn" how to Shoot.
Focusing on my skills before i start Modding the Gun. (action job and such)

Im Hoping that I will be able to do pretty well with this gun in Stock form.
Im not setting any Specific Goals as in Group size or distance. just gonna shoot to see what the gun and myself can do. Then worry about Tighter Groups and Distance.

First time at range I had a few 1.5" three shot groups at 100yds.
Im being Honest and dont care if Heckled.

I Know im still flinching,holding the gun wrong and have Horrible Positioning.
ALL of which this forum has write ups on how to correct.

SO I have alot of work to do and im Loving every minute of it.

By the way im a Seasoned Reloader so im sure that i will have good ammo to sling down the Barrel.

Welcome to the Hide, lots of good reading if you use the search for certain topics. Nothing beat quality range time but only if done with learning being the main goal and not just sending bullets downrange. With such a large amount of members on here you'll find that someone will probably be close to you and maybe offer to let you spend the day practicing with them. That is the best way to learn by watching from someone and being able to ask questions.

Looking forward to this years Street Rod Nationals down in Louisville, had a great time last year but two days sure wasn't enough time to see even half the cars and displays.

Welcome.

I've got the same rifle you are shooting...love it.

It can shoot multiple 3/8" groups at 100 and less than 1" groups at 200 yards, straight out of the box!

I wish you the best of luck and hope you enjoy the Hide as much as I have in my short time onboard.

After watching several videos on YouTube I already know I was doing Alot wrong.
I have shot IDPA before and I know fundimentals come first. The rest comes later.

Happy shooting. Couldn't have started with a better out of the box rifle for the cost.
