I think I already know what the answer will be but figured I would ask anyway. I recently completed load development on a new rifle and had <0.25 MOA groups with low SD/ES. Yesterday, I purchased and installed an Area 419 Hellfire muzzle brake and went to re zero for any POI shift the brake may have caused and found my groups to be horrible compared to before ~ 1 MOA. I assume because I added a variable to the end of my barrel I will have to start over with my load development but that is so disappointing to me after finally dialing it all in. Is my thinking correct in this?

The reason that some of us know about this is that we may have done something similar. In my case, the brake and suppressor were both late entries to the party. It's not surprising and it's logical, but still annoying to have to modify a good load.

This morning I went and loaded some a couple tenths of a grain above and below the load I made and then 5 more of my load I had before that I was going to shoot with removing the brake and see if it went back to where it was before. While I was shooting some groups and getting frustrated with the groups I had idea to shoot the previous load without the magneto speed on and low and behold the group went back to being super tight. So I guess the hellfire and magneto speed don't play well with each other on my rifle.
