Prepped action and filled screw holes with foam ear plugs.
Degreased after sanding and sprayed with a few coats. Lightly sanded
stock and sprayed first coat of Desert Warrior dark earth. The color
does not even remotely look like the color in the book. That's fine
as it luckily wound up being one of my favorites. Put on GAP stencils
from Bulldog arms. Had run out of small stencils so I just cut the
smaller ones out of the extra stencil material. Downloaded a picture
of the skull, edited it to get it the small size and printed. Taped
it to some stencil material and cut out with exacto knife. Took longer
than putting on the rest of the stencils

then hung and coated with
Sniper Green. These two colors look awesome together.

Looks great. I have done stocks, but never the barreled action. I have Dimensions do my stocks because his work is amazing. But, I am wanting to do the BA on my GAP without having to send it to his FFL. I dont have a way to media blast it, but want perfection. I am not concerned about my ability to properly spray the BA, but I am concerned about my ability to properly prepare the BA. In your opinion, can a BA be prepped for proper adhesion without blasting?

It is a GAP Rem 700 (blued) action and a stainless, fluted Obermeyer barrel.

Sure, it can be preped properly. You just have to go at it with sandpaper. Blasting is better, maybe just easier. If you hit it all over, and I mean all over with 100 grit paper you can achieve
the same results. Sometimes I take them to my buds place to blast, sometimes I just grab the paper and go to town.

I like sanding the flutes with paper anyway. Wrap paper around
some 3/8 fuel line and it gives a nice finish and takes the sharp edges off.

A scotchbrite pad and acetone will take almost anything off. It's not as good as blasting it and then parking it but if you are on a budget it will work.
