I completed the paint work on my number 2 most favorite coyote thumper. The paint for this is DuraCoat and has a nice subtle skulls background with an overlay of tan grass blades to add to the camo effect. This is the type and colors of camo that is the most effective in the late fall hay meadows and fields in my area where on any given day you may find me belly flopped and waiting for the next victim.

This one is an AR15 in the 243 WSSM caliber. It has a 24 inch long SUM barrel. I put a 5.5-22x56 NXS up top in some Leupy Mark 4 rings. This scope has my favorite hunting reticle of the NightForces which is the NP1-RR.

Stock is a MagPul PRS and the grip is an Ergo. It has a 1.5 pound JARD trigger inside. This rifle can roll up a coyote as far as you can see a coyote and is my goto rifle when distances get longer or winds are blowing a bit more than usually or I just feel like really putting the thump on a coyote. We all have those days

Hope yall like it as much as I do.

Re: New Paint on my #2 Predator Killer

Thanks fellers, the more I look at it sitting on the table the more I am liking it. Heck I like it so much that I might even shoot it a couple times this year.

ARP, how hard is that to do? I got a similar set up and wouldn't mind trying my talents. Is it durable and not chip, gloss over or wear off easily?

I have an SBE II in Max4 that glosses over after a while, probably from the oils in your hands I guess. I haven't seen a shotgun yet that hasn't got that faded glossy sheen to the camo after a couple seasons of use.

Re: New Paint on my #2 Predator Killer

Once cured the coating is pretty darn tough. It is not bulletproof but it does stand up quite well to normal wear and tear. The paint on this rifle was on there for near 4 years before I changed the paint and the paint still looked great. I just wanted a different look. It took me a complete day, 12 hours worth, to remove the previous paint if that gives you an idea of how tough it is.

There is not a scope on the planet that I would not paint. They are tools and nothing more to me. I have a small handful of NightForces and all of them wear paint.

Re: New Paint on my #2 Predator Killer

it took me one whole day just to get the old duracoat paint off everything. That paint was still in perfect shape after nearly 4 years of being on. The actual paint work will span over 2 or 3 days once started.
