I am looking to buy a new recoil pad that is a grind to fit for my Savage 111. I think I am going to start with Pachmayr brand decelerator model just because that it was I usually see on high end custom rifles. This gun will be used for bench shooting and deer hunting. Can anyone tell me which pad most use and which you have found better. Only looking from a reply from people that have personally used a Pachmayr.

Option one:
Pachmayr&reg Pachmayr your primary source for quality handgun grips and recoil pads This is the old english leather pad.

Option two:
Pachmayr&reg Pachmayr your primary source for quality handgun grips and recoil pads They called this one a "basket weave" texture.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

They also offer what is called a sporting clay pad. Has a hard plastic top that wont catch a jacket when being brought to shoulder. This is the pad i put on all my hunting rifles.

The Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad came on my Manners stock. It is very nice. It is a little bit harder than some of the other recoil pads (Such as Kick-Eze) but then when it sits in your safe, it does not deform. I would highly recommend the Decelerator.
