Has anyone here had any experience with the new Redfield scopes that Leupold is marketing? I need a decent but inexpensive scope for a varmint rifle i will be putting together here soon. I thought that maybe this redfield 4x12 would be a good choice? I figure it is probably comparable to a VX-1 Leupold?? Lee

I had a redfield 3x9 on of the new ones. optically its pretty tuff to beat for the money. however I still like the the elite 3200 better. anyways the redfield had a bit funky tracking I thought it zeroed ok but getting there was a bit strange. if you don't need to adjust the turret and are ok with set it and forget it, I highly recommend getting one of the elite 3200 or 4200 scopes that are on closeout. I heard of some guys getting 3x9 4200's for under $180 at cabelas, that is an insane amount of scope for the money.

if you need to adjust a turret and wanna save money, the 10x elite 3200 is tuff to beat. for a set it and forget it scope without turrets the elite 4200 is my favorite scope and I have owned most, a zeiss conquest has better glass, but the elite just feels right to me.
