Re: new rifle Harold Fredd build

i have a range report

target in hands but no pictures

the rifle performed well; i ran it through its paces, in a sniper class last week

round count was 235, down the pipe -

no breakages, no failures of any kind

the action is a little stiff (it was like new before the build)

we did a 300 yd to 50 yd run and gun, drill - one shot at 300 yds, pick up your gear and run to 200yds, this shot was on a hill side of about 40deg, modified sitting, next run to 150 shoot from a 50 gallon barrel , then run to the 100 shoot from a picnic table , and then finally down to 50 yards, standing shot

all on a head size target = fun !

during this 3 day class, it rained for half a day middle way through the course, temps of 49,

the rifle never hiccuped it ate what i fed it ; in fairness though so did the PSS' in the class(as far as i know) noone had any issues

the build specs are mine, the work is Harold Fredd's and he does terrific job , (scope base screws opened to 8-40, trigger job, blue print the action, changed the shroud getting rid of the j-lock, install and chamber/crown Rock creek barrel)

on top of it all , he is a former Army Ranger, and super nice guy; he appreciates your business and when he has time will shoot the bull with you about rifles, calibers, and life in general

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Mauritz

thanks for the compliment !

the scope is ideal in my opinion for shooting steel or bad guys, minute of man they say ,

very fast acquisition , great field of view for shots less than 100 yards

is it ideal for shooting groups , no

is it a good f class scope , no

but it has a zero stop, which i love; when i leave the gun or move i dial down to zero and the zero stop makes that super easy

1/2 moa elev, windage adjustments, is BDC'd for 168 7.62 calibler

the glass is bright, clear, and the TMR reticle is what i have on my other gun , (4.5-14x50 M1) so it keeps me using the same reticle when is shoot bolt guns

i went with this low power scope and love it , its just enough

it performed well in the urban class i just completed even in low light situations, i could still id the target, easily center the target in the TMR reticle and achieve a nice POA/POI hit

we did angle shoots, it was ideal for that 66 yds to 235 yds, i dialed down to 2.5 power and found the targets and then dialed back up, field of view is terrific

weight wise , i am not sure , its light 20 oz maybe or less ?

No shit?

Is it .25" or is it a "range". How far "around" a quarter inch constitutes a "range". My 1 MOA rifle can shoot in the .25 "range".

Can he be more specific?
