Time to get new weapons all I have now is a FN 5.7. Was thinking another 5.56 or 6.8 and another .308. Was looking at building my own ar10/ar15 from scratch. I want to get some opions on other rifles. I hear the SCAR's are good and that is what we are going to so i can practice off duty with them also. Just want some opinions from people. Thanks ahead of time.

the L is replaceing all m4/m16's and majority of assault type rifles. the H is replacing the Mk 14 (aka M1 with sage stock), MK 11 (aka AR10 or SR25)and pretty much all other semi-auto sniper rifles. This begins in 2012, FN was told to start FULL production to replace the M4. Our unit is pencil'd to redeploy 2012 so we are going to be first users of the FN SCAR on a full-size scale.

Interesting, I heard a few weeks back that the Army decided to drop the SCAR. But then again, you can't beleive everything you hear.

Yeah everyone is excited that we are finally getting the courage to do changes in the military and associates.
I can't find this months article of Army Times stating the SCAR won the competition, they will start supplying troops in 2012 with the new weapon. In the meanwhile troops will have a new M4A1 with full auto, heavier barriers, better rails etc etc. If you guys can get a copy of Army Times it will explain everything. Also FN's website says that socom gave them the go ahead for full production.
Anyways back on subject, any other weapons people prefer?

You sure about that? I heard is that the special forces guys will be/have been tossing the SCAR-Ls for SCAR-Hs as it realy doesnt offer much over the M4.
Interesting that we would go to M4A1s in the mean time...

Thats fine, Im just trying to figure out which units or "groups" would be getting them. The FN Forum im apart of would usually be all over this..
Anyways, again I highly recommend a SCAR 16, 5.56 ammo is cheaper than .308 or 6.8.

well it will go from tier 1 operators, to deploying troops, to Rangers/SpecTRe/etc etc etc, to infantry, to all others. It is a total revamp for all US Army though it will take 5-10 years before it is all complete. projected date when they hope to be complete is 2020.
I need both a small cal (5.56 or 6.8) and large cal (7.62 heh large cal lol)
