New Rifle

I just got myself a Marlin 917vr .17HMR. I have only sighted it in so far at 50 yards, but this rifle is a real tack driver and amazingly accurate! I have some aftermarket parts to help, but even without them this is a great rifle. I'm 6'3" and it has a nice big stock that fits just right for me. Just put good glass on it and you are ready to go out of the box. It seems to really like the winchester v max ammo. The only thing that I did not like about the rifle was the trigger. Marlin's lawyers must have got theit panties in a bunch because the trigger was definitely over 5 lbs. So I've swapped it out for an aftermarket one. I've shot anything from .22 to .308 and I have to say this is my favorite rifle and favorite caliber!

Such an exquisit rifle. My cousin has a 917vs with a beautiful grey laminated stock. He's shooting quarters at 125 yards with just a cheap bushnell banner 3-9. I'm going to get a 917v here soon for squirrel season. Can't wait.
