Gents,

Just a quick report, after seeing a RIA rail gun on another 1911 forum I started hunting one down. SARCO's new store in PA had one in stock (they have one of everything RIA has, great selection....) and after looking it over I had to take it home. Like my RIA GI model its a solid performer.

The gun is a chisled profile with no relief cuts in the slide and the full length rail, it has a full length guide rod and Meprolite novak style night sights with vented trigger and hammer as well as the full beaver tail. The trigger is decent with no mushyness but does have a very mild gritty feel that I suspect will smooth out with use. The feed ramp is polished and the barrel throated. I ran 100 rds of Federal and PMC 230 ball through the gun with flawless reliability. 15 yard groups are one big ragged hole with both load. The muzzle heavy (and this gun IS heavy) feel keeps the recoil impulse pretty tame and the gun swings and tracks well.

Teamed with a Galco belt slide the gun is great for belt wear. Beautiful gun with a dead serious look and all for just under $700.00 you simply cant beat this gun.

Its worth a look if you want a rock solid, no BS sidearm.

This one also has the Meprolite night sights installed. You can get the reail gun with standard Novack style sights. The gun was worth every penny and I try to support the local shops and not mail order, even if it costs me a little more.

Being self employed I can relate to them needing to make a buck or two.
