Got a Savage 110 Tactical the other day. I am a fan of Savage rifles. I don’t shoot PRS or competition. I do shoot on my land and stretch it out 450ish and would on occasion when possible shoot further. I got it from bass pro, and looking at the specs, compared to Savage, it talks about a Blueprinted Bolt, in comparison to the 110 Desert Tactical.
I don’t see any other difference besides mine having a fluted barrel and Bass Pro saying it having a fluted barrel. I’m happy with it, it shoots good, what little I have put through it this far.
I’m getting mixed “reviews” on a Bolt lift kit for this and the BAS on the 110. Would like to get or do something to help this Bolt out.

I have a the savage 110 desert tactical. the bolt lift was rough for about 200 rounds. its smoothed out nicely and now at about 800 rounds I have no complaints. I would recommend an extractor kit instead even if theres no issues now.
Which extractor kit did you get?

@Sam_1 is absolutely correct. Even if you don't get the upgraded kit, get yourself some spare extractor parts from Savage.

Aside from the extractor issues, Savage produces a very accurate factory rifle. I started my precision rifle travels with a few Savage rifles. I still regret having sold my 10 FCP-K in .223. One of the most accurate rifles I've ever owned.

A 9/64 detent ball to replace the factory detent ball under the extractor works wonders. Cost me $.40 for 100 and I swapped out every savage I’ve owned
