You want 308 length. The 5.56 version fits on all tubes but leaves a gap on 308/A5 length. The DMR-308 stock fills that extra length up.

Here it is on a standard 6 position 5.56 carbine tube. It pushes all the way flush but doesn't lock there. If the carbine tube had more positions then it may lock up closer. The 556 Version if the stock will also not close flush on A5 length tubes either.

Here it is on a LMT 308 lower.
