Today I tried something different with my shooting technic. Every time that I go to the range I take forever to pull the trigger, but get good results. This time I wanted to see the difference in shooting with a fast trigger pull and a slow one. This was done with a stock SPS Tactical in .308 off a bipod and a rear bag. The one that is being measured is the one that I took my time on, witch came out to be about .6 MOA@100 Yards. Then you can see what happens with the faster trigger pull. The one in the middle I forgot one round lol. I still took my time on the target, but was practicing a smooth fast trigger pull. I did manage to get one sub MOA group with the faster trigger pull. Maybe Im jerking the trigger and not realizing?
This is also the first time testing some changes to my usual handloads. Normally I use 42.0 gr IMR 4064, Federal 210m primers, PMC brass, and 168 gr SMK's seated to a COAL of 2.803 (.007 off the lands). This time its still the same load but with Lapua brass and CCI BR2 primers. Probably just my shooting, but normally this load will shoot well below .5 MOA out of this rifle. POI also changed to high and left. Is this usually normal for changes like this?
Definately going to keep practicing the faster trigger pull as it will help in a lot of needed scenarios. how do you shoot?
