Hunting & Fishing New to El Paso, Texas

My work has brought me to live in El Paso recently, previously I was living in San Angelo. I love to deer hunt and had a nice area to do so in San Angelo only 15 minutes from my house. Now that I have been in El Paso a few weeks I am aware that deer hunting will not be so simple. From what I have gleaned, and with the planning and cost of hunting deer in the area (to include New Mexico) I will probably be driving back to San Angelo for deer hunts. So my mission for joining sniper's hide is to see if I could get some advice on local (to include New Mexico) varmint/hog hunting to fill the void between deer season, but especially hog hunting. Any specifics on places to go and other info in this regard would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Weed, NM has some Mule Deer in that unit but it's kinda rural to say the least and if ya hunt the area be prepared for changing weather and no the wind never stops ! Most everything is now draw but Florida Mountains over in the SE part of NM has Aoudad sheep and White Sands has Oryx hunts and it's not too bad for the price! Of course the Gila Wilderness is not to far away and in unit 16D is about the best unit going but ya have to scout !
