New toy, and a question

Good afternoon guys

I just picked up a new (to me) toy to mess around with!
Cz 457 precision varmint, picked it up off a coworker for what I think was a good deal with all the extras he included……glass (that I already swapped out)…area 419 scope rail, arca rail, and bolt knob, atlas bipod, pile of magazines, case and a brick of s&k high velocity match (what he had the best results out of.
I’d like to use this rifle for varmint control of a few farms I have permission to hunt so I would like to swap it to a hotter caliber, I’m leaning towards 22wmr over 17 but I’m having a hard time sourcing a wmr barrel for this thing, any ideas on where I should be looking?
Hopefully I’ll be able to get out at some point soon and see how she performs, if the weather will cooperate that is lol

Check Gunbroker.com. They seem to have a bunch of CZ stuff, albeit at sometimes high prices, but probably your best chance.

Can't go wrong with a Lilja barrel...couple of 22 WMR magazines and you're good to go.

Care to elaborate, not saying it can't happen but I've never seen a bad Lilja review. Both of mine hold sub moa out to 200yds with a few different lots of good ammo.

I have owned several 22wmr as well and finally acquired one that shoots lights out.
Not sure why that is but agitating.
EDIT: Whoops I'm a goon I see you were referring to the lilja barrels.

You could check out what's for sale at rimfire central. You should be able to grab a pull off barrel. Ive seen a few for sale there.

Can't go wrong with a Lilja barrel...couple of 22 WMR magazines and you're good to go.

Going with a Lilja is no guarantee of anything. You will admittedly get a better shot at a good shooting barrel for your $500, but it's no guarantee.

If you're gonna spend that much on an after market barrel, I'd find a Smith to spin me up a barrel for at least a good thermal fit, if not threaded.

I pieced together a 457 using a Lilja barrel and I'd do it differently, if I had to do it again. If you go with the drop in Lilja, you might as well order the go gauge as well, so you can set the headspace.
