New Zastava M91s - accuracy, accurizing, suppression, and weight?

Earlier this year, I handled a new Zastava M91 at a gun shop. The optic reticle was very cool, my first time looking through a PSO-type reticle, but the glass quality of the (I believe) Zrak PSO clone was very poor. The gun was also rather heavy. I'm considering getting into a 7.62x54r AK-pattern gun and the M91 is the best option I think currently.

For the guys who own them, how do you find the accuracy? How can they be accurized and lightened? How well do they work with suppressors? I've watched Forgotten Weapons' videos on the M91 and M76, which killed my interest in the M76.

These are minute of barn door guns. The are not precision rifles in any usage of the world, unless comparing them to an AK with old rusty ammo.

They are short range DMR rifles (And even that is a loose term) for conscripts. There is no way to accurazie them except trying to handload. They are generally a 3MOA rifle shooting 2 MOA ammo at best. You are correct that the optics are generally shit, although there are some better examples out there, but not that that price point.

The only reason they are expensive is they are a cheap knockoff of the SVD, which is ONLY valuable due to low numbers here. In the rest of the world, they are cheap and plentiful.

If you want a novelty, then why not. If eastern block guns are really your thing, find a semi RPD or PKM instead.

My thought regarding the optics was that an RS Regulate mount would open up options for better, modern, less-crap optics and would also lighten up the gun some. Something like a 3-12, 3-15, 3-18, 3-21, etc. My interest in the M91 is because I want a x54r AK. The Veprs aren't imported anymore and are really hunting guns. I've never been interested in PSLs. That leaves the M91.

Save yourself the headache and get an ar10, scar, hell an m14 (literally almost anything else) before you try to make a commie long gun worth a shit.

I built this custom Zastava M77 in .308 and it uses M1a mags. Custom cerakote, magpul grip, vortec brake, etc., etc.
