Re: Newbie from Texas

i have never messed with that big ol round.
i would bet just start at the low end of what the books say and try differnt things from there.
i think my buddy has built a few of these for a few guys.
i will ask and see what he thinks

I was really just introducing my self, looked for the new members section and didn't find one so chose this one, but the mods can move it to a more appropiate place

Re: Newbie from Texas

The 30-378 is fast
John Lazzeroni had to take his warbird to altitude to get the fast FPS readings he is getting to out run it

Better use double struck Bergers

unless you want a fouled barrel every 10-15 rounds

John will agree on this issue.

it will kill accuracy if you don't clean the bore often

as single struck projectiles clog it

210 VLD's are the bomb

I use H-1000 and 50BMG powders with great results

My girls have two 30-378s
we love them

Re: Newbie from Texas

Thank you for the information. As of right now it's the factory 26" 1/11 barrel. After some reading I've done I may upgrade to a 30-32 with a 1/10 twist, still doing a lot of reading. The information on this site goes on for days lol
