Newbie-Left handed rifles?

I have been wanting to start learning to shoot longer range rifles for some time now and am just starting to get the money to do so. Problem is I can look at stuff all day long but really would like a left handed model. I would like to eventually try to shoot 1000 yds or so. I don't believe I can just start at that distance but would like a gun I can use at that distance eventually. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

</div></div> got to agree here. I started out shooting right handed bolt rifles but switched over to left handed later on as it just felt more normal. Later on when you want to spend more money and get into the craziness and money pit called long range shooting get yourself a custom like this:

I agree, great tease..Jstarsz, what exactly is that weapon? It's pretty...and I have idea of what I am looking at yet, lol!

Re: Newbie-Left handed rifles?

I would definitely go left handed. I finely did and on long range it just make everything much easier. Second shots are a few seconds versus 20 or so, trying to get re-bagged and back on target.
I would get the Remington 700, because when it is time to upgrade you can start with that rifle, due to all the after market goodies that are made specifically for that rifle. You can upgrade at little at a time or use the action and start a custom build from scratch.
Save your money while you are shooting, cause once you start down "the path" there is no return, but you will have a cool rifle, so all is good !

I would guess he will get back on here and tell you about the rifle, but if I were guessing, I would say this is his 308 from Undergound Skunkworks.

First off i,m a big advocate of buy once cry once, that being said

Hit the left hand for sale section hidden in the WTB/WTT thread,
you may find a good deal
or
Catch a group buy or several and build from scratch.

It was built by Mike Bush.
