Hello,
I have a question regarding removing the action from stock. I recently picked up a rem 700 thats been bedded in a mcmillan a5, and i'd like to do this installation

To start, i assume i just remove the screws at the bottom of the trigger guard, remove barreled receiver and then follow the instructions in the thread. correct?

When i reassemble, whats the proper torque for the screws? will i have any issues with the bedding, or is removing and reinstalling a receiver common practice? change in zero?

Thank you for your help and patience guys. Obviously i'm a newbie and i don't have much experience with bolt action rifles.

Re: Newbie question regarding disassembly on rem700

Just remove the guard screws and take out the action and bottom metal. When youre done torque down the guard screws to 65 in/lbs and youre good. Of course you should always re confirm zero anytime you do any work on your rifle.
