I find myself overwhelmed while trying to understand and select the correct optics for my needs. I figured after reading many pages here and on a few other sites that it might be time to post something and get some feedback. Getting a helping hand in the correct direction.
This will be mounted on a Savage MKII TR .22LR with the intended use of being mostly a target rifle. I enjoy pushing my limits and plan to take this out to about 200 meters. It will be mounted on RT 25 MOA base, the rings are another item in question but will be selected with the scope.
Now for what I know I am interested in thus far. I want the scope to be mil/mil, I saw another article someone asked a similar question but a different budget so I figured I would alter this one to my specific needs. My intended budget is $400-$600, scopes that come close to that budget can be considered. I would prefer variable but fixed can work and I believe with my needs a 3-15 would work well or something close to that range, this number is not hard and fast. I would also like exposed turrets. Clear glass is another quality I am interested in but I also understand that you get what you pay for. Therefore I am looking for the best glass in this price field.
