Hello folks,

I just joined this site today, but I have searched around and I have not found what I am looking for yet. I am looking for a general consensus of what I should be looking for in a gun based on my criteria

A little background on myself
I have been shooting mostly shotgun (410, 20, 12) .22 rifles and .223 rifles for a good many years, but recently I have been debating on stepping up my fun supply and adding .308. What I am looking to do is shoot mostly varmints (woodchucks, coyote) but also break into the fun shooting at 300+ yards etc and recently I decided to also get into a suppressors (subsonic if I do)

I would like a few friendly recommendations as far as the models of guns to buy and why I would want to go what that particular gun vs. another

I have been talking with a local dealer, who has been a wonderful source of information, but I would like additional / feedback as to what stock guns I should be looking for, and what I should expect as far as range, costs etc. I will be reloading myself, so cost of ammunition won’t be a huge factor.

Currently I a looking into the Remington line of .308 700's
I would like to stay under 1k plus scope(s)
