Rifle Scopes NF 2.5-10x32 or Bushnell 4200 3-12 (mil/mil)

I know, I know - there perhaps isn't even a comparison in overall quality, but both are great scopes and the Bushnell is SUCH a great bargain right now.

Why it's hard for me to make this decision:

* Bushnell has a bit more top end magnification
* Bushnell has FFP (Not sold on this, as I don't know how large Bushnell's reticle is at 12x) - I'll be using this for varmint (P-dog) use as well as target.
* I don't NEED FFP, but I suppose it'd be nice for if/when I do any tactical matches.
* NF has ZS turrets - Again, not NEEDED, but a nice perk.
* Nightforce is simply a better scope and its lighter/smaller than said Bushnell

I currently have a Bushnell 4200, but in 6-24x - and it's an amazing scope.

The money isn't really THE issue, but it's hard to pass up a good deal - especially when the Bushnell is currently almost a 1/3rd of what the NF is.

If you're comparing the NF to a Bushnell with cost concerns in mind then have you thought about the Viper PST line? More features than the Bushnell, I was impressed by the quality of the glass at their price point and the feature list is impressive.

I own a NF 2.5-10x32 as well. It's a fantastic scope and I use it all the time, but if the price tag is really pushing it for you I'd suggest giving the PST a chance.

I had the same concerns and went with the bushy. The pst wasnt available at the time and was another $360.00.

As much as I like my NF 2.5-10 I'd say to get the B3-12 for now since they are such a bargain.For the price they are selling for now you can buy 2 or 3 and have a excellent trainer or backup scope.I should take my own advise,LOL,but I've spent way too much as is.

I think it's better suited for tactical matches beings it's FFP and a little higher mag.If I had to choose I'd pick it as a do anything "reasonably well" scope.

For predator calling and as a general hunting scope I'd rather have the SFP NF.It's got lower profile and stiffer knobs,plus it's light,compact and well known for durability.

Despite the bargin price I would still get the Nightforce.

I don't think you either would be anything but a good choice. Is the Nightforce superior in optics and construction? yes. Is the Bushnell Elite an excellent scope? yes.
The new Elite line from Bushnell has the ability to preform on the almost on the same levels as the Nightforce. I have the opputunity to handle almost the enire Elite line and the entire Nightforce line, if I had the money to spend I would go with the Nightforce. However, if I wanted to try out a mil/mil FFP before committing to a $1200+ scope I would certainly go with the Elite first. Use it to its max and if its everything I wanted throw it another another platform and then get the Nightforce when you saved up the cash.

IMHO I don't think there is a comparison, NF and Bushnell are not in the same league. Buy once and cry once. NF for sure.

Theres a reason why Ronnie Barrett endorses the Bushnell Elite line. He used them and liked them. Are there quality differences sure, but the Elite scopes are still an extremely nice scope and a great buy. People use to say a Savage out of the box couldn't do well at a competition shoot too....

I have 2.5-10x32 and I really like it.

If your eyesight is not the greatest,i.e., not quite 20/20 corrected I would go with the scope that has the best quality of glass. In other words get any kind of edge over the competion you can afford. Hopefully the crystal clear view afforded by the nightfore makes up for my aging eyesight.

Also with the 2.5-10x32 you get to own a scope that actually say made in USA.
