Hey guys, got one of these coming sometime next week in the Tremor3 but I'm starting to second guess myself thinking I should have just stuck with the 5-25 Mil-C.. Who all here has one and what's your opinion of it vs the typical 5-25? It's just going on a 6.5 for now so let's hear your thoughts... Is it really worth the extra dough for 10x more on the high end? Thanks my fellow AA or SA members...

Can't speak on the reticle, but given that the 5-25 tunnels from 5-7x it's like having a 7-25 so might as well get a 7-35. That's my thinking anyway. Other than that the scopes are pretty the exact same. Size, weight, features, it's all the same.

I never had a 35x top end before, I was always in the 5-25 range or lower on all my scopes, but once I tried it, I really came to appreciate it.

What is the rifle going to be used for?

No comps or anything, just general fun shooting... I've never owned a Tremor3 neither, wonder at what power range the reticle becomes usable and actually how large it gets at 35x..

I have used a 7-35 in the field before. The top end power is great in the morning buy by afternoon I was turning it down to 20 due to mirage anyway. I think the Mil-r reticle is to thick at maximum magnification for my tastes but the new Mil-C I think would be a big improvement.

The mil-r for me is usable pretty much right at 7x. I view 35x as an observation power. Great for spotting for yourself or other people. Wouldn't shoot at that mag.
If you haven't had a scope in this mag range I would say try it and see if you come to like it. If not, seems like you can exchange it?

I have 5 5X25's and 3 7X35's. I only put the 7X35's on my 338's and 300 WM's. I use the %X25's on all my 6.5 CM rifles. Both are great scopes but the 7X35 is overkill for the money at under 1,000 yards IMHO.
