Just wondering how some who have used this recticle like it? NF website does not give much detail on what the marks are spaced at 1 MIL? how does it look at 15X on the FFP 3-15X? I would appreciate any input on this.

Re: NF MLR recticle

Dont know how it looks on the FFP 15X, I have it on my 8-32x56 and it works great. I really prefer it over others I have tried.

Spacing is MIL and half MIl's

Go ahead and get it, the only complaint I have heard is that it is too fine. Doesnt bother me but YMMV

Re: NF MLR recticle

the marks are spaced at .5 mil incriments at full power (unless you have an F1 model). i like the MLR. i only wish it had the little gap in the middle like the Leupold TMR.

Re: NF MLR recticle

I find my MLR is thinner, and thus easier for range use on small targets, at 15x than the Gen II XL is at 16x on my SB. Go MLR in a NF, whether 15x or 22x. You won't regret it. It's just too small at 3.5x on the F1. There's a good diagram of the reticle itself on the NF website.

Re: NF MLR recticle

The only nit pick I have on the MLR is I would like to see the whole mil marks a little thicker to be quicker to ID compared to the 1/2 mil marks as the width is not much different, but I can see the flip side of that being that thicker marks are not as precise, so it's certainly give and take. My fav I have had the pleasure of using is the leupold TMR, I just don't like the rest of the scope

Yeah I saw some cool pics of it in the through the scope thread on here. I dont want a luepy though. I also like the NP-R1 but cannot decide between MOA MOA or MIL MIL setup Can anyone tell me what magnification the NF 5-22 recticle is correct size since it is SFP?

Couldn you also use it at 11x?

Re: NF MLR recticle

You could but the spacing would be 1 mil between hash marks instead of 1/2 mil.

That brings up my other big annoyance with the 5.5-22x. To me it would have been much more useful to have it range accurately at 11x. Mirage many times around here does not allow ranging at 22x.

To me I'd much rather have accurate 1/2 mil hash mark spacing at 11x, and still have the option to go down to 5.5x and range with 1 mil spacing, or up to 22x if conditions allow and get 1/4 mil spacing.

That to me is more useful than having 1/2 mil spacing at 22x, 1 mil spacing at 11x and 2 mil spacing at 5.5x. Maybe other people range more skyscrapers than I do

I feel the opposite. When I'm doing long distance ranging, I rarely find myself moving off 22X.

Move to the edge of your reticle. 1 Mil is broken into .25 (@ 22X) increments, which will subtend .5 Mils @ 11x. That's where I do 99% of my ranging anyway.
