I’m new to the tripod setup and googled for many hours trying to find my (economy) setup . I had a budget of 500-700 for a full setup and found the options really limited unless I bumped up the budget, I ended up buying this night stalker pro from night goggles and got a RRS TA-3 to go with it. From what I researched there was a Leofoto , PVA’s comp 40 , night goggles and Two vets that offered a affordable 75mm bowl tripod that was compatible with the TA-3. I ended up paying $420 for the tripod from night goggles and $280 for the RRS TA-3 leveling head, all in I was at $700 and couldn’t be more pleased with the performance and stability of this setup ! I took it out this weekend to break it in on some squirrels here in northern Nevada and it did not disappoint. Can’t thank Tom enough at night googles for taking the measurements to make sure the leveling head would fit. If your looking for a rock solid setup in that price range look no further.
