    Re: Night Vision

    Dan,

Here are two different setups, in which you might be interested. One rifle uses an Eotech, with a PVS-14 monocular behind it. This allows you to use the NVD on several rifles, and the zero remains the same for all of them, day or night, if you mount the Eotech (or Aimpont) far enough forward to accommodate the mount. For this setup you need a handguard with a monolithic rail. You will also want to get an IR illuminator as the PVS-14 will experience some light loss when you are using it behind a few more pieces of glass.

The second rifle is a D-740 and uses any flat-top upper, but the rifle should be built as a lightweight so that the balance and ability to carry around is maintained.

First is a lightweight 6.8 SPCII with VLTOR CASV-M and mid-length gas. This PVS-14 has a 3X magnifier lens attached to it. The IR illuminator is attached to the 2 o'clock rail:

Next is a 12" barreled 6.8 SPCII with D-740, 4X night scope and Troy TRX-E rail which is extremely light weight:

    Hope this helps
