Curious how many of you who shoot ELR (1500 yards and beyond) and who use a Nightforce ATACR 7-35 like the Mil XT reticle? I've got a scope with the H59 Horus reticle and it is too busy for ELR. The Mil XT looks less cluttered. I'm looking to use the reticle for both ELR and closer distances for PRS. Let's hear your thoughts and experiences!

I don’t have a Mil-xt but have shot a few rounds with one at a mile and shoot 1500+ pretty often.
I really like it and it would be my first choice for Nightforce reticles.

the dots in the tree are useful without being obtrusive.
It’s quite similar to the athlon APLR reticle I use.

I've enjoyed that combo so much when I've used it that I bought my own. I like the balanced size of the reticle features.

The 7-35 was a no-brainer decision, too.

Thanks for your input Steel head and phlegm! I'm thinking the Mil XT would be a versatile choice for both PRS and the 1500 yard plus stuff.

it’s a good reticle
The cross is a bit busy but that’s by design for lower power visibility.

Here’s my reticle a a bit over a mile at 29x and as I said it’s quite similar to the Mil-xt

Was deciding between the 7-35 Mil XT and Zero Compromise. Sale came up on a the Nightforce and I bought it. Love Nightforce as a rule, love the Mil XT reticle. Not crazy about how finicky the parallax is. Word on the street is that the Zero Compromise is not finicky when it comes to parallax. I won’t sell the Nightforce as I love the scope but may end up with a Zero Compromise for a future 300PRC project.

There is no problem with it, it’s just a very narrow band for focus as an example that forces you to change sooner as distances change. Probably not explaining that well....
This is the first time I've ever seen anyone describe the 7-35's depth of field as being shallow or finicky on parallax adjustment. The three I have are all the same: Incredibly generous.

I'd be curious to know more about yours.

I found that my intial setup with my two 7-35's ATACR's took longer than other high end scopes I've owned in the past. There is a lot of adjustment in the ocualr. Trying to focus the reticle and eliminate parallax was frustrating. Once I got the hang of it on the first scope it was easier to adjust the second one I picked up.

As Swage mentionEd the initial set up with the ocular was more difficult and the ‘finicky’ part that I am refering to as an
example would be to change aiming point from 40-50-60 that requires adjustment from point to point. Perhaps that’s just a function of the short range? Cool part about that is how close you can bring the 7-35 down to and I am comparing it to my 5-25 ATACR. The 5-25 won’t pull in as close as the 7-35 but the 5-25 isn’t as finicky for focus at close range. Came up with dry fire practice.
