Im contemplating getting a Nightforce 2.5x10x32 in the low velocity reticle with ZS for my .308 gas gun/ Javelina gun. anybody have any experiance with this set-up? The BDC matches perfectly with a 168gr. A-max @ 2650fps

thanks for the reply, I ve had good luck with the Kenton Industries turrets in the past but for fast/snap shots this NF system seems like it might work,,the bdc only works @ 10x is my only bitch being a SFP scope, still getting the zero stop option and exposed turrets for dial up

    Re: Nightforce Ballistic Reticles

The trick with the Ballistic reticle is to zero the rifle at 500 yards on the 500 yard line in the scope.

Get a rough zero at 100, then fine tune the zero on paper at distance to take up any slack in the system. You'll be much closer at the shorter ranges and you won't run into a big divergence at distance, not that I expect you'll be engaging much beyond 500, but either way, there are ways to adjust and make them successful

They are even using these reticles in combat and they are working very well this way. They have hybrid versions with mil horizontal lines and ballistic hold overs that are working out well.

talked to Nightforce @ SHOT and they're building the F-1's with customer supplied BDC starting in about 2 months, that will be pretty cool on a FFP scope. Thanks for the replies, looks like I'll have to play with this setup to make it work

    Re: Nightforce Ballistic Reticles

    FYI,

Speaking with NF they have 26 variations on the Ballistic reticle to accommodate different rounds and muzzle velocities. And as described, they can get within a thousands' of an inch accuracy with the laser cut reticles, which a turret can't do. So when used with a single combination you can get very accurate, as well you can use the turrets once zeroed to adjust for changes in the environment to take up any slack you might encounter.

When you talk them, they actually covered their bases very well with them.
