Rifle Scopes Nightforce Lead-times & Price are going up!!!

Nightforce Lead-times are going up and prices maybe also.

This is from our account manager.
“As of today estimated lead times have increased to 24 weeks. This has to do with overwhelming demand as well as a steady stream of Military Contract Orders. This estimated lead time is not projected to lower for at least the next six months.”

He also talks about the prices going up but he is not sure by how much. The Est. is $75.00.

We have just a few left.

Mike, is this a ploy to get everyone to gobble up your NFs?

Man, 6 months. I wonder if that's gonna affect the used NF market. Kinda glad I haven't been able to get rid of mine.

Or, just maybe when somebody keeps getting in subspec parts that fail inspection and all one can do is shit can them all, well guess what? Schedules go south. For those that are wondering why Night Force can't deliver, I'm thinking more like....

1. Parts are not meeting spec and are being tossed back over the wall. Reticules? We don't need no stinking reticules!

2. A clean room fit for....for.....24+ weeks!

3. Military contracts that haven't gotten pissed off enough....yet.

Just when they finally get it together, it will be another extra special flavor that somebody else is selling that will be occupying this space. Deliveries will resume to more normal state at exactly the time that draw downs are at maximum. As Mr. Natural would have said "Thus has it always been!"

Have at it boys, or just remember that this market, the optics market....loves a vacuum...

Mike is right, if you need it can can find it...buy it.

How can they justify a price increase? They are doing the exact same thing Premier did, raise prices as soon as they get a military contract.

Now some people may now not be able to afford a Nightforce and just say forget it I'll get something cheaper. Not a very good marketing ploy, considering their product hasn't changed.

When the value of the dollar diminishes from X, to X-Y, the price of a product must raise proportionately. Raw material, labor, and transportation costs rise as the value of the dollar diminishes. In other words, each dollar has less buying power.

It's an economic sign of things to come.

Im interested to see what the price increase acutually turns out to be. $75 addtition doesn't seem like too much to worry about, but if it goes up a couple hundred, the NF sitting on my 6.5-284 will be the last one I own.

Any price increase from a foreign manufacturer makes sense to me. We are driving our dollar down to where it is going to have no value at all. Just look how much more European optics are today versus just a few years ago. And the Yen is going up against the dollar. so a Japanese made product price increase does not suprise me at all. Tom.

We got word that prices did go up yesterday. At this time the ones we have in stock will not be affected by this price jump or if you have one on back order with us.

Comparing the 14X Mark 4 to the 15X NXS, I would lean to the Leupold on price alone. Maybe things like this will bring Leupold back some business with their ER/T line offering so much for such a low cost ( in comparison).

The precision shooting community seems to go through these phases. Mark 4's were great, then came the age of NF, and now it seems were coming on to a new craze phase which seems like Vortex will please the masses for a period of time. I never saw much in NF besides zero stop that put them so far ahead of Leupold. I honestly Find MK 4 reticles easier to see, and I don't see much of a difference in glass. It all boils down to personal preference.

I applaud Nightforce for letting us know the facts, instead of leaving dealers twisting in the wind, like some other manufacturers might do. As a consumer, I'd rather make a purchase decision based on real information, rather than "real soon now" or "we just don't know"

So, worst case, Santa comes in June 2012 instead of December 2011.

NF is providing 3-15x50 F1 Scopes with H-58s for the new issue of MK13s for Crane at least for the Army side. Which may take a while! Haven't looked into swapping out the old POS SFP with 1/4 MOA turrets but they may soon have to deal with converting or swapping out new scopes for the ones out there currently on the MK13.
