So Mr Gardner posted a picture online of a ar10 with a scope mounted on top with the new 20moa mounts. I asked why the scope was mounted to far back. http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2645603

So. If you own a ar10 and have a NXS 3.5-15X50 or similar scope, can you post a side shot of your rifle too see where the eyepiece is in line or behind the charging handle? mine is very close to the charging handle. I can post pictures later today when i am not on the clock.

i appreciate the replies

Re: nightforce nxs mounted on an ar10/eyerelief?

I would venture to say it's more about how you shoot an AR type rifle. I always go NTCH so my scopes are mounted further forward. That's also why I don't have a PRS on any of my AR's either.

The 3-15 NXS on my LAR8 is mounted with the back of the ocular directly above the charging handle, which is generally my preference for AR-pattern rifles.

Yes it looks odd but if you cheek sits way far back on the stalk you'd need the scope further back on the rail to get the proper eye relief. But that just bares the question why not move your head forward as well as the scope.
