Rifle Scopes nightforce nxs question

my understanding is i got the standard NXS 3.5-15x50 scope; NON zerostop MLR reticule. But what are the lines (Christmas tree lines) under the turrets for? they certainly don't line up for 1-8 hundred yards like its marked. im confused

i have looked at the website. the 3 manuals i have and nothing specifies what these are used for.

I believe that's for indicating what Revolution you are on.

Yes.

After you zero your rifle, make a note of how many of those hashmarks are visible.

What I do is to write the number on a small piece of card stock, and tape it to the top of the turret cap. But however you do it, you need to be able to remember that number, so you can return to your short-range zero.

And the best way not to get a turn off is to <span style="font-style: italic">always</span> return to zero after shooting at a given distance.

so is this feature on all standard NXS scopes ?

i don't see point of zerostop if you can just use this.. then again i haven't seen zerostop in person either


stupid question, maybe for some. I am not an elite sniper like the rest of you. and i am not afraid of asking a question to better myself

A zero stop makes it faster and easier. You don't have to count the lines to know that you are your zero. You don't even have to look. This pays off when engaging multiple targets and even more so when shooting when it is starting to get dark out and you can't see those lines perfectly.

Whats nice about zero stop is you don't have to remember, or log any info, just tun back down till it stops. I have both, with ZS and without, I love the ZS.
