Rifle Scopes Nightforce Scope Question

How close will the parallax work on your scopes? I just received one and it is fine at 100 yards and beyond, but can't get it set at 50 yards. Is this normal?

Scope is a 5.5-22 NXS 50mm

Dial it back to 5.5 and I think you'll be ok. Both of mine (5.5-22) seem to mimick what you described.

My S&B 5-25 works sharply on full power down to 10 yards. Not sure why I would do that but it does.

Got one just like yours and I have no problem @ 50 and 22X. Must be an individual thing? Do try to dial back somewhat. I have seen the issue you describe, but it was with a 6x24 Burris Signature so not in the same league...

I just got a 3.5-15X50 (first range trip last Sun) and had no problems at 50.

Did you set and forget your ocular lens before you began dialing the parallax? The threads on the ocular piece are very very tightly spaced, so it requires a great deal of turning to do so. Make sure you do this if you have not. Then, dial your parallax starting from infinity on downward slowly until you cannot perceive any movement of the reticle on target with slight head movement.

For a while, I was getting a semi blurred picture or reticle at 100 yds and settled for it. Once I amply dialed my ocular piece, the image and reticle became very sharp and crisp. My 5.5-22x50 was a completely new improved scope afterwards.

I have the same scope and I have no prob w/ mine I would call nf if you cannot resolve the issue.

I did not set and forget the ocular piece. Will do tomorrow. I will report back after morning session. Thanks to all who replied.

Adjusting ocular ring did not fix the problem. I pm'd NF-Bill and he said that 50 yards is kinda the gray area. Some scopes will focus in this area, and some won't.

Eddie, I just pulled both my NF scopes out and checked focus both set at 5.5. The 5.5-22x56 close focused at 16 yards, the 5.5-22x50 at 17 yards. At higher magnifications those numbers aren't possible. I sent the 50 back to NF before I put round beneath it. Not what I expected for a NF but they took care of the problem. I was satisfied enough to buy a second one. I'd mess with it a bit more before sending it back as the shipping and insurance really added up.

Both of my 5.5-22x50's work fine at 50yds.
