Rifle Scopes Nightforce

Re: Nightforce

I own 2 NF scopes: a 8-32x56mm BR and a 12-42x56mm NXS. I love them both, but my next scope will be the 5.5-22x56. One thing I have noticed is that I keep both around the 20-25x range and only use the highest magnification for looking for adjustments.

I really like the image clarity over the leupolds I have owned along with the npr-2 reticle. I haven't looked through a USO in a while but it didn't stand out to me and certainly didn't look 700+ dollars nicer. (Of course I'll probably be bombarded by the USO faithful now, haha)

Re: Nightforce

Hype in my book means outrageous, extreme or otherwise deceptive marketing/sales/etc. practices, language, promotions, etc.

Nothing...I MEAN NOTHING...about the NF NXS line of scopes is "hype." They are extremely rugged, reliable optics with some of the best quality glass in their segment of the market and there is a reason that many shooters around the world put their lives and the lives of others on the line with firearms equipped with NF scopes. They are that good...PERIOD. No hype...no BS...no worries!

Once you have the NF in hand, mounted and have a chance to really try it out on your LMT...I would bet you that the Loopy on your 5R won't last long before it gets upgraded to a NF!

Re: Nightforce

NXS scopes are TANKS...56MM on average are more clear or with better resalution. All ways 100% flawless tracking and zero retention..Between me and my Crew we have owned and Used for Long range shooting more than 30 NXS scopes...

Re: Nightforce

Great scopes!

On my 4th NF.Two 5.5x22's,a F1,2.5-10x24.

The F1 is a really kick ass scope and my favorite.Get the HS knobs,ZS,MLR2 reticle or H-58.

The 5.5-22's are the old SFP standby.

That little 2.5-10 gets the job done in just about any situation.

Re: Nightforce

Nightforce scopes are sweet, you will like them. They are very repeatable, the clicks are really good and they are easy to operate. I have not found a scope yet that I like better. As a bonus they hold there value well so it is easy to trade up to the scope you should have bought in the first place( Ask me how I know!).
If you are only going to shoot targets and not hunt with it than you will like the npr1, it works great for that! It is a little fine for hunting or lowlight shooting. The velocity reticle looks like it might show up well ( have not seen one yet). If it were me buying a sfp scope, I would look at the mil dot or mlr with mil turrets.

If you are committed to going moa on moa, Mason at CS tactical showed me the NPR F1 reticle and it is pretty bad ass! Might be more than what you want to spend.

Re: Nightforce

I have several NF scopes, and would never consider selling them. They track well, are rugged and have solid clicking turrets. I've never had any issues with mine with years use. I think they are close to the best value for performance scopes available.

Re: Nightforce

You are gonna love your new Nightforce. I guarantee it!

For a semi-auto platform, I probably would go with an Elcan specterDR 1.5-6x, but that's just me. Nightforce are great scopes, if you choose one of their scopes for this platform, I would suggest considering a lower mag such as 2.5-10x32 for something lower profile and would not go more than 3.5-15x50...just my thoughts though.

Re: Nightforce

i've mounted up a few of these, with the compact scopes (2.5-10 and 1-4) up to the 5.5-22. most guys either go with the 2.5-10 or 3.5-15. as for you being happy with the scope, i've had a total of 3 customers that weren't happy with their nightforce scopes. if i had to guess, i think you'll be very happy with your new scope

Re: Nightforce

I'm an avid Nightforce fan. I think that they are the best bang for the buck in upper tier optics.

I own and have owned 1-4Xs, 2.5-10Xs and 5.5-22Xs and have never been disappointed, nor have I ever suffered from "glass envy" when trying out another scope that's supposed to be better.

After having owned a few, my two favorites are the 2.5-10X32 and the 5.5-22X. The 10X is really compact for what it is and does nicely on a field rifle that you'll be humping around. I use the 22X for target shooting from some sort of rest. The rifle is too heavy for anything offhand anyway. I didn't go with the 3-15X because it's just about the same size as the 22X, so I figured I'd go with the extra magnification.
