So I'm looking at a scope for my Remington 700 (308 winchester) - I have a deal where I can spend under 300 US and get it reimbursed thru work for an award, so I'm looking for using this for my scope (price cannot go over 300 with shipping and tax etc). I was originally looking Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40 Nikoplex scope (sticking in the idea of under 300 US with tax and shipping based on a midway usa sale), but when I was looking at optics at optics planet I ran into another scope and had second thoughts. They have a Sightmark 10-40x56mm Triple Duty Tactical Rifle Scope with some extras included for the same price. I was not familiar with the company but after much googling I have not found anything bad said about the scope, most seem to be quite happy with the purchase based on the price versus performance. Am I fooling myself in thinking this would be a decent purchase for my 700? There are some other posts on SH regarding Sightmark scopes but I did not find any topics where people really put them down saying they are trash. I shoot 300 yards typically but would like to be able to reach out to 600-900 yards as well. I'm really not a scope guy so I hope you all can help me out here.
Thanks,
Charles
