Rifle Scopes Nikon M-308 BDC 800

I just purchased this scope for my Bushmaster AR .308. Can someone explain in detail how to utilize the turrets. I understand how to sight it in utilizing windage and elevation, but I don't understand the turret on top of the scope, or the "zeroing" feature, or how to use it. I was amazed that there weren't instructions that came with the scope, and even more amazed that nobody in customer service at Nikon knew anything about it. Anyway, I have the scope and it bs mounted. Now if I only knew how to properly use it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm surprised that no documentation came with it. But regardless - it's pretty simple. Once zero'd at 100 yards you can dial the yardage on the Elevation Turret and in theory - you should be good to go. However I think that this is likely to only be *close* since differences in ammo alone would make a difference. I prefer standard turrets. But that's just me.

I have not seen or used one of the M-308 offerings, but here's a link to the M-223 scope literature which may help you:

In brief, the turrets pop up, allow you to rotate them freely to zero, and then pop them back down again once set. Hope that helps. Also, there's a regular shill from Nikon on the Hide (just messing with you Bart) that should hopefully show up just about any time now with the info you seek or some help I'm sure.

Nikon has a ballistics caluclator on their website, and a 5$ iPhone APP THAT IS AWESOME. If that helps.

Greatbrook, I am surprised you didn't get any manual's as well. The manual Ord sent you will work for that scope. Sight in as you would at 100 yards, lift the turret up and turn it to 100 and push it down. With a BDC reticle, you would turn it to 0 and push it down. Then turn the windage to 0 as well after pulling out the turret. If you PM me your address I will make sure you get a M-308 manual sent your way. While I do not yet own a M-308 scope, I have a Remington 700 AAC .308 just waiting for one. Should be a great match. My buddies that have this scope love it! Some of the guy's used it at a shoot in Utah last June to blast steel out to 700 yards. Here's a pic a friend sent me of his AR10 with Nikon's M-308 BDC 800 Scope on it.

anything recent on this scope? how about the P-300 BLK? its a 2-7 with the reticle made for the blackout. lists at 199.00. kinda liking it
