Anybody used these scopes? I am looking for a reasonable priced scope to see hits out to 300 yards. I usually use shoot-n-c targets so I can see hits usually at 200 yards with my rifle scope but not at 300.

Anybody care to share their experience with these? I am looking at the kit that comes with the tripod and case as well. Anybody used that tripod? Is it a piece of junk or worth buying? TIA!!!

Re: Nikon Prostaff 20-60x82 Spotting Scope

I have the Nikon Field Scope with ED glass in 25-75 X 82 and have also purchased the Nikon prostaff in 16-48 X60. The prostaff that you mentioned will definately let you see bullet holes at that distance but not much further. Atmospheric conditions play havoc beyond those distances and even the top of the line scopes that cost 1k to 2k and above will not be able to see beyond 500 yds unless it is a calm and cool day. The prostaff is a great scope for the money and what makes it even better is the ability to purchase optional eyepiece lenses that can give you optimal clarity when looking at long distances such as fixed power wide angle lenses. IMO I feel 300 yds would be the max distance you can use with this scope but can be used further out with a spotter that can follow the sonic trail of the bullet and see where it impacts in the target.
