New here, Tried to do a search and did not come up with any results.

If I were looking at a dedicated can for my 270 bolt action, and chose a Nomad, what pros / cons would the E brake they offer bring?
and thoughts on FRP with and without Ebrake?

Don't know about the effect of the E-Brake on FRP, probably not many folks that do given how long the Nomad and E-Brake have been on the market.

As for pros and cons a quick stab would be.

Pros:
Reduced recoil
A few dB quieter

Cons:
Adds an inch or so
Adds ~1.5 oz

I'll probably get one for my Nomad while it's in jail, for the price Hansohn Bros has them, might as well give one a try.

I put the Nomad E-Brake on my Sandman S which is used on my .308 AR-10 and .224 Grendel AR-15. The E-Brake works great regarding felt recoil and muzzle rise. And on the Sandman it helps keep the Cole-Tac cover in place.

About the same...really didn't notice too much diff in sound. Was talking to Mike Pappas about the E-Brake and he says they perform best w/ high pressure, full velocity rounds. Running subs, he said, the E-Brake wouldn't have much effect.

That makes sense. Did Pappas say anything about when the sandman e break would be available?

I didn’t notice any added suppression performance but the e-brake seemed to shorten the recoil pulse. The downside is it kicks up a bit of debris when shooting prone in the desert.

Picked up the Nomad E-Brake for my Sandman S last week. Wasn't expecting anything but I was very surprised to find it really cut down recoil on my 6 Creedmoor. Ran it in competition and found it to be pretty close to running it with a Hellfire brake. I will be running suppressed for the rest of the season for sure.

Yep, the E-Break is a performer. I have talked to Area 419 about making a Hellfire adapter for the Keymo so I can run the Hellfire for recoil reduction, now with the E-Break not sure that I would run un-suppressed with the Hellfire.

Any update on POI shift with and without the E Brake? I hadn't really considered that but it makes sense. I got the Nomad brake for my Sandman because (1) it comes with their front cap tool and (2) and it should keep a suppressor cover from sliding forward. I doubt I use it without a suppressor cover.

Minimal.

Honestly, who cares what the POI shift is, it's going to be different with your setup anyway. Shoot it, note the offset and you're good. I don't care if it's 4 MILS off, as long as I know and can account for the offset it doesn't matter. Also, just never shoot unsuppressed and you have even less to worry about :).

Nomad brake on a Sandman is what I'm running; same reason as you, to keep my mirage cover in place. Love it. Hanson Bros has them for the best price last I checked.

For sure. I agree, shift amount doesn't matter as much as repeatability but a ballpark idea is nice since my can is in jail for the foreseeable future........... Got mine from Hansohn as well as well as the Sandman S. Fantastic group to work with.
