Nomad Long Range Monthly Shoot
3rd Sunday of the month
Douglas, Wyoming on Wagonhound Road south of Douglas off of Esterbrook Road
Match is similar to the Sporting Rifle Match in Raton with a walk
through course of roughly 63 targets spread out over ten stations over about 2 miles of walking. Therefore, if you want to use it, you must be able to pack it. It gets really hot here at times and water and a snack or two is a good idea. One shot per target with several bonus targets in the 1,000 plus yard area. 85% of targets are in the 500-600 yard distance. $35 entry fee with $10 going back into prize money. Pay out to how many places will be determined by number of shooters. I hope at least top two of each group, and only money put in to either hunting or practical/tactical will pay back out respectively.
Match meeting location is on attachment to this email and you must have google earth on your computer to view it. If you can't do that find Douglas WY on a map. Go to west side of town and find Esterbrook Road that leads south out of town. Roughly 7 miles a dirt road called Wagonhound Road exits off to the west. Follow it for roughly 3 miles until you see a either a white CHEVY truck (mine) or shooters and there you'll be.
Currently I will be running two catagories: 1)tactical/practical
rifle, and 2) hunting rifle. Such is determined by scope and rifle combination. If your running a dope card it's practical/tactical. No rifles shooting faster then 3300ft/sec to limit steel damage. No FMJ/steel core rounds.
Sight in range opens up at 8am and the shooters meeting starts at 9am. If you arrive after the meeting has started it will be unlikely you will be able to shoot. Waviers will be signed before any shooting takes place.
It's a fun and very diverse coarse with about every type of shooting position possible. Want to get better at hunting/rifle
matches/marksmanship show on up and have a fun time. No target ranges will be given and you can either use seperate range finders and ranges or share with a friend. I chose this to help out with becoming more proficient with all of ones gear.
I just finished hosting the Snipers Hide Cup so if you've seen any pictures from that match, you'll be shooting in the same terrain, or at least until I figure out how to post pictures.
Any questions please call me!
