Nomad LT, TBAC Ultra 9, or…??

First post here, forgive if this has already been discussed many times.

Have my one-and-only bolt gun I acquired this year, Remington 700 SPS Tac 308 in a Cadex Strike Lite Tactical chassis running a Leupold Mk5, and am looking to upgrade my can. Currently have a Dead Air Sandman-S that I LOVE. Really only ever ran the Sandman on AR’s (flawlessly) until now and have noticed massive POI shift on the 308 and not the most efficient piece for the job. Big fan of having dedicated suppressors for each task, so that is why I am looking. Have read a lot on the TBAC Ultra 9, but with having two DA cans already, was looking to “keep it local” with the Nomad L or LTi.

Are there any other things I should be looking at? Worth going to the 338 TBAC?

I work at a dealer that has a great inventory so I have been fortunate enough to be hands-on with both items, just never shot any of them.

Appreciate any advice!!

For the one and only bolt gun, the tbac 338 would be a waste, unless money is no object. The u9 is great, as is the LT. Diligent defense enticer LTi is very quiet as well. If youre getting a discount from the dealer check them out.

I have run the U9 gen 1 for over 25000 pills and love it with no problems. Just got the Dominus and running it on my 6mms Nice. Oh and by the way customer service is second to none.

I vote for Ultra 9 as I have one. I would suggest the Magnus or Ultra 9 Gen 2.

Nomad LT is a great option. No impact on accuracy, lightweight and the ability to choose different mounting systems. Additionally you can use the E-brake as well if you'd like. I find it does help to stay on target and is effective.

I've got nothing but great things to say about my LT.

I have a Nomad-L (not the T) that I use on my 6BR, .308, .300 win mag, and soon a 6GT and 6.5 Creedmoor. It’s a great suppressor - I use the Area 419 Hellfire mounting system.

I ordered a TBAC 338 Ultra in 2021 - due to Eforms delays and a move out of state, I’m stilll waiting to re-submit a form 4. Can’t make a comparison yet.

Start with one, add to the collection in the future.

If you want reduced POI shift then TBAC is what you seek, nothing compares to them. I’ve had my ultra 7 on a few dozen different rifles and not a single one had a POI shift the was adjustable. One AR with a pretty long barrel dropped about .05mil but that was it.

These days I’d buy a Dominus SR though.

I also have a Nomad-LT, and highly recommend it. Another great option is the new Otter Creek Labs Hydrogen-L. They're both damn-near equal in all categories, including performance, and they're currently the 2 quietest rated suppressors on PEW Science's charts. I have noticed virtually ZERO POI shift with my OCL Hydrogen suppressors when using their ZR0-DTA direct-thread mounts.

For modularity I would go with the Nomad. No downside to the Thunderbeast but I would go with the magnus. I’m a big fan of the KG Made stuff as well. They are all going to sound great and perform well.

One of the guys this past weekend was borrowing a magnus from a sponsor on his dasher. Just insanely quiet. Makes the wait for mine even harder. Just glad I have my ultra 9 until then
