Wanting to buy a descent 22, for general plinking and to have a cheap training/fundamentals gun. Currently have a savage 93/17 in it use, not very accurate, but going to pillar bed it to see if it helps. But really want a nice bolt 22, all I have right now is a couple 10/22s.

Option 1
Bergara b14r a little heavy, but I'm a big guy, most expensive out the gate. Lot of stock options if I don't like it, find something on the px

Option 2
Bergara bmr-x a little lighter and cheaper, doesn't have an adjustable cheek riser, I'm sure i could put something on it

Option 3
Tikka t1x i would probably throw it on a krg bravo, so it would end up about same price as b14. Not sure what this setup would weigh, I'm sure some one has this setup could tell me, currently leaning in this direction.

I have the B14R and the T1X. The B14R is great because of 700 SA compatibility on pretty much every accessory. Of the 2, it’s better suited for PRS style shooting although it won’t balance very well unless you get the 20” stainless heavy barrel model. Out of my samples, the tikka is more accurate and less picky with ammo, as in it shoots cheaper ammo better than the bergara. It’s tough to beat for a general purpose 22.

Thanks, you have the 16 or 20" tikka? Kinda thinking about going 16, especially since it will probably have a suppressor hanging of it most of the time.

I've got 2 T1s. Mine is a 20" and my daughter's is the 16" model. My daughter runs a suppressor because to a 15 year old having a suppressor on her rifle makes her cooler than the boys that don't have one. Can't argue with her about that. With match ammo the velocity difference is only 8-12 fps between each rifle. We've added a Area419 and Salmon River arca rails to them and just recently added the T3 add on grip.

I have the B14R and T1X in a KRG bravo. If there’s any chance you’d carry hunting or what not the tikka is lighter. My next may very well be a CZ.

If you’re building a range/bench gun then B14R would be a great choice.

The tikka I have is a 16”. Running a TBAC 22 takedown on it with a thermal.

On certain lots of SK ammo they’ll go supersonic in my B14R and have the loud crack even suppressed. The 16” tikka doesn’t have this issue. The tikka has an awesome trigger from the box as well. Plan to upgrade the B14R trigger

If I wanted a nice 22 that I can use for target with hunting mixed in it be a T1X or CZ

The B14R is nice as a clone/heavy setup as it takes 700 parts. That said if you want to carry extra mags the B14R are AICS pattern. So they’re huge in comparison to the others. I also have a BMR in 22 mag. That’s more comparable to the tikka in regards to weight and magazines

Have you looked at the CZ 457, there is a lot of aftermarket support. Lots of factory stock options. As accurate as the Tikka. I have the Ruger, Tikka, Bergara, and the CZ. The Tikka and some of the CZs are lighter if you plan to carry and hunt. The B14R is several pounds heavier.
I have a little, i probably need to a little more. Seems like a lot of people like the CZ. I'm not sure how much carrying i will be doing, mostly will be shooting off my back porch, or the gravel pit down the road.

What does the tikka in the bravo weigh?

I like the Bergara, and it would probably end up cheaper after I buy a bravo for the Tikka. My current day coyote rig is a savage with criterion heavy varmint profile, in a manners t5a, so im used to toting around a heavy rifle. Night time right is fairly heavy also. Not that I don't have enough irons in the fire, I'm wanting to build a matching pair in 22cm and 6cm for hunting/target shooting.

Are there any other descent options for bravo style chassis for the tikka's.

Don't really care for the mdt, and i have never been behind an actual chassis, so not sure if i would like them or not, i do like the modularity of them though, seems like it would have a similar feel to ar's. Not many people in NE Arkansas that i know of, do a lot of long range stuff, even though there is plenty of places to shoot, with all the rice and cotton fields. From my dad's house to the river, I have little over a mile shot if I was capable and had a gun that could.

That another thing I like about having a bravo, i could put a bridge, and get a clip on thermal, for another small game night rig, or if my wife wanted to go.
The add ons for the bravo are plentiful. Compared to the factory B14R stock you can add more to the krg bravo for sure. Of course you can buy a B14R barreled action and add it to whatever chassis you want. Chassis for the B14R will have more options. At a cost of additional weight no matter how you set it up over the tikka
