I have recently ordered a Remington 700 AAC-SD. I already had a Leupold VX3 3.5-10x50 that I just sent to Leupold to have target turrets installed. I am completely lost as to what the best mounting options are. I will have flip up caps on the optic when it is in use. Any help would be appreciated!

Re: Noob needs help

Depends on your budget.

The weaver extended multi-slot 20moa rail is an excellent value.

It will most likely need bedded.
This isn't an issue with the rail, but with the 700 action.

The best rings you can afford.
I don't know if your scope is a 1" tube or 30mm.
The Burris XTR rings are pretty good, TPS rings are very popular.

If you do a search on SWFA for scope mounting kit, they have several base and ring combo's available for sale. I recommend a base with a 20 MOA cant to it.
They have TPS kits, EGW kits, IOR and a few others.

Welcome to an expensive hobby.
Next up is a new stock.
Then a new trigger.
Then you'll think of something else.

Trust me.
Have fun!
